With Join or Die: Airborne Vol. 1, I’m excited to bring new elite troops into our Malta invasion campaign. The inclusion of Fallschirmjäger makes this an excellent addition for our historical scenarios, and I can’t wait to get them printed and on the table. Join or Die continues to provide some of the best 3D printable miniatures for historical wargaming, and this latest Kickstarter looks like another fantastic offering.
Why These Miniatures Are Perfect for Our Malta Campaign
For our ongoing Malta invasion games, we’ve been focusing on bringing historically plausible forces into play. With these new releases, I’ll be adding:
- Fallschirmjäger drop forces, perfect for airborne assaults on key strategic points.
- Highly detailed infantry models, which bring more character and variation to our games.
While the American paratroopers won’t be used in our Malta campaign with Phil, they will work perfectly for our European games with Daniel, providing flexibility for different theaters of war.
These sculpts fit beautifully alongside existing Bolt Action models and give us more options for dynamic missions. Whether we’re staging an airfield raid or defending fortified coastal positions, these figures will add a lot of depth to our tabletop battles.
My Experience with Join or Die Miniatures
I’ve backed several Join or Die campaigns in the past, including Comrades in Arms and March to Hell: Napoleonic Wars, and they’ve always delivered top-quality STL files. The figures print exceptionally well in resin, while FDM works well for terrain and vehicles. In our North Africa games, I’ve already been using some of their March to Hell desert buildings, and they add an extra layer of authenticity to our battlefields.
Why You Should Back This Kickstarter
If you’re interested in historical wargaming, this Kickstarter is worth a look. Here’s why:
- High-quality sculpts that rival some of the best historical miniatures available.
- Perfect for Bolt Action and other 28mm WWII games, offering more variety in unit selection.
- Great for alternate history scenarios, such as different outcomes of Operation Hercules (the planned invasion of Malta).
- Excellent value at Kickstarter pricing, with a significant increase in cost post-launch.
- A strong track record of delivery, with previous Join or Die projects being well-received by the community.
